Key takeaways
Pick direct hire or managed staffing before you pick a name. That choice decides who runs payroll.
Stated guarantees run from 90 days to 12 months, and a few providers state no terms at all.
Plan on asking each provider for a quote, because every role is scoped a little differently.
Big global recruiting firms are built for local offices, not remote hires.
Send every provider the same role description, then compare their answers side by side.
The best international recruitment agencies for US companies do one of two jobs. Some find a candidate abroad and hand you a shortlist. Others find the person, employ them, and bill you every month. Those aren't the same product, and most roundups treat them like they are.
Picture a founder, Marcus (a made up example), who needs a support lead and two admins abroad by January. He opens five agency sites. Two talk about placement, two talk about monthly staffing, and one doesn't explain its model at all. He can't tell who actually fits his situation. This guide compares seven providers on regions, vetting and guarantees, using what each one publishes, so you can sort them faster than he did.
How We Picked These Agencies
This list is for US employers hiring people who live and work in their own country, mostly remotely. To make it, a provider had to place remote talent abroad, explain its model, name its regions, and say how it screens candidates.
Direct Hire vs Managed Staffing

With direct hire, the agency finds and screens the person, then you hire them yourself. You or a payroll partner run payroll, so the paperwork is yours. It's a good fit if you want to keep the relationship direct and choose each person.
Managed staffing flips that. The agency employs or contracts the worker and handles payroll, benefits and replacements. You direct the daily work and skip most of the admin.
Either way, someone has to pay people across borders and keep track of it. Some teams use a platform for that, such as Globaltize Workforce. An employer of record is a third thing. It's the legal employer for someone you've already found, not a recruiter. Our post on employer of record versus a staffing agency explains the split.

The 7 Best International Recruitment Agencies For US Companies
1. Globaltize: Best For Hands On Hiring With A 12 Month Guarantee
Quick disclosure: this one's ours, so weigh it like any vendor page. Globaltize recruits in Latin America, Southeast Asia and South Africa, mostly for admin, support, finance and technical roles. We start by defining the role with you, then screen with skills and English tests, trial tasks, and identity, background and reference checks. You'll see three to five finalists, usually within 7 to 14 days, and you make the offer.
With Hire Direct, you employ the person yourself, and a 12 month replacement guarantee applies if it doesn't work out. Prefer to skip payroll? The managed option covers international payroll, compliance and unlimited replacements, with no long term contract. Our competitor comparison shows how that stacks up against other models.
Then there's Globaltize Workforce, our platform for what happens after the offer. It lets you pay remote team members in 150+ countries, track their hours, and ship them equipment worldwide from one dashboard. That's one less place to patch together a payroll tool, a time tracker and a shipping vendor.
Every role is scoped a little differently, so reach out for a quote and we'll scope the exact job you have in mind. Best for US companies hiring one to ten remote people who want to choose each one.
2. Tecla: Best For Engineering Hires
Tecla leans toward engineering. It blends recruiting with staff augmentation across 18 plus countries and describes four vetting layers: AI screening, a recruiter interview, a technical assessment and an AI fluency screen. The guarantee is 90 days, and Tecla says a shortlist can take as little as three days. Hiring admin or support staff? Check that it covers those roles before you book a call, and ask for a quote on your exact role.
3. Connext Global: Best For Regulated Work
Connext Global Solutions uses a shared management model. Its team employs and supports your people while you direct the daily work, and it operates in the Philippines, Colombia, Mexico and India. It aims at small and mid sized businesses. Connext reports SOC 2 and HIPAA compliance and an average time to fill of about 21 days, both self-reported. That compliance detail matters if you handle health data. We saw no guarantee terms, so asked for them in writing.
4. Adaptive Teams: Best For One Partner Across Hiring And HR
Adaptive Teams pairs staffing with HR, payroll and performance management, and it employs people through Deel in more than 150 countries. Terms run month to month, which suits companies that don't want a long commitment. We found no screening or guarantee details, so ask for both, and get a quote that reflects your actual roles rather than a general estimate.
5. Bruntwork: Best For Support And Admin Teams
Bruntwork focuses on the Philippines and Colombia. Vetting is a technical check, aptitude tests and a client video interview. It says it invoices from Australia, so find out which entity you'd be contracting with. Replacements are promised, but the terms aren't stated. We'd look at it for support and admin teams that need a managed setup in those two countries.
6. Virtustant: Best For Fast Shortlists
Virtustant recruits, contracts and pays workers in 18 Latin American countries, South Africa and the Philippines. It advertises a shortlist in 48 hours and a replacement guarantee with no time limit, and both sound great. But the terms and the legal employer aren't explained, so ask both questions before you sign.
7. ISC: Best For A Senior Search In One Market
ISC is US headquartered and has been around since 1979. It runs employer paid contingency search, plus EOR and payroll, through a network across Latin America, Asia Pacific and South Africa. Guarantee terms aren't published. It also lists visa jobs, so confirm your project is a remote hire. It makes the most sense for a mid level or senior role in a single market.
Which One Fits Your Situation?
Back to Marcus. He wants to meet and choose each person himself, he needs a few hires, and he'd rather not run a payroll department. That points to direct hire or a managed option from a provider that lets him pick, so Globaltize is a natural first call. If he were hiring engineers, Tecla would join the list. If he handled health data, Connext would. And if he wanted a single partner for hiring and HR, Adaptive Teams would.
Your answers might differ. The point is to match the model to your situation first, and the provider second.
Large Global Recruiting Firms And What We Left Out
Michael Page, Adecco, Antal and GAP Talent are big names, and they'll show up in your search. None publishes guarantee terms, and none describes placing remote workers abroad for US employers. They fit a local office, an in-country leader, or a senior search where local networks count. If that's you, ask each what it guarantees and how a search works.
We left out two others on purpose. The Department of Labor's H2B recruiter list, which the DOL doesn't endorse, and TRS Healthcare, which relocates nurses, both bring workers into the US. That's a different need. Marketplaces, EORs and PEOs didn't make it either, since they don't screen candidates.
How To Get Useful Quotes
Quotes only line up when everyone is answering the same brief. So the fix is simple. Send every provider the same role description, the same hours and the same start date, and ask for a written quote. Marcus's first mistake was comparing a few web pages. His second attempt, with one shared brief, took two days and was a lot clearer.
When the quotes arrive, look at the whole year rather than the first page. Ask what's included, what sits outside it, and what happens if you need a replacement. Our breakdown of hiring in the US versus hiring overseas gives a wider view.
How To Choose
Ask each provider these before you sign:
Who's the legal employer? If it's the agency, which entity and which country?
What does the service cover, and what sits outside it?
What triggers the guarantee? A clear 90 days beats a vague promise.
Can you see the screening steps in writing?
How do you leave? Check notice periods and the process for hiring the person directly.
Think about hours, too. Our post on Philippines versus Latin America helps there. And ask for a typical shortlist time, not the best case.
